Dogs Trust at Dorking Library

Next dates

Sorry, there are no future dates available

Woof Woof!
Give your family a treat and learn some new tricks by coming along to Dorking Library for a dog-focused, fun, and educational free workshop. This face-to-face workshop is packed with engaging dog-related games, activities, and role play, designed to teach children how to behave responsibly around around our four-pawed friends, understand their body language, and keep them happy and healthy.

Please leave your pooch at home, so you and your children can give your full attention to the workshop to get the most out of it. But feel free to bring in some pictures as we’d love to see them!

Learn dog safety and have fun
Sadly, a lot of incidents between dogs and children happen with much-loved family pets, where our little ones may have misunderstood what our pooches have tried to tell them. By teaching our children more about how dogs communicate, we can help avoid these incidents so we can focus on the important things, like playing games and snuggling on the sofa together after a long walk.
While this is a serious issue, we promise this workshop is anything but! Each 90 minute session will help your dog-loving children learn to greet dogs safely, how to tell if a pooch is friendly, and how to behave so their fluffy friends feel safe and comfortable around them.

Key Information:
The workshop is aimed at children 7 – 11 years old.
will run for 90 minutes.
Children MUST be accompanied by an adult. (If you're bringing more than one child, one adult can supervise a maximum of 3 children.)
1 ticket = 1 child. Please book one ticket per each child attending.

Booking is essential, so be quick to avoid disappointment.
Sadly, dogs must stay at home – these workshops are just for people.
Please arrive 10 minutes early.

If you have any additional needs or require any special assistance, please let us know prior to the event by contacting Library.Events@surreycc.gov.uk
