Runnymede and Ankerwycke is perfect for a walk, picnic or just relax by the river – with its meadows, woodlands, wetlands, and accessible stretches of the Thames, Runnymede is a great place to reconnect with nature. Runnymede is home to several memorials recognising the ongoing struggle for liberty. You can enjoy great views and might be able to spot Heathrow Airport when heading to the Air Force Memorial.  

The Ankerwycke has a new walking path fully accessible for wheelchair and buggy. However, if you are planning to visit all memorials and you have a baby/toddler, I recommend using a child backpack carrier or baby carrier as those are not accessible as there are steps. During raining days some of the paths can get muddy so equip yourself with wellie boots. 

There's plenty for wildlife fans to enjoy, too – look out for kingfishers, ducks, geese and swans, and a host of different butterflies. 

Magna Carta tea-room serves a range of hot and cold drinks, light meals and snacks. There are limited parking spaces here and additional ones on the riverside (pay and display or free for National Trust Members).
